Eva Ellen was born on December 18th, 1877 in Crawford County,Indiana. Eva Ellen's father was Winfield Scott Sloan and her mother was Mary Ann Bennett. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Neal Sloan and Mary Ann Sands Douthit. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named Cyprian Neal, Charles Haden, Willis Edward, Lebish Meade, Lelonza Erastis(Rassie), Leroy Bert, Chester Raymond, Anna Belle, Stella, Winnie, Julia, Bessie and Lettie. She was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. She was buried in Stamford,Conneticut.-
