According to the Northrup -- Northrop Genealogy pamphlet(?) by A. Jud d Northrup, LL.D., published by the Grafton Press of New York copyrig ht 1908 the following applies to Amos:
"Soldier in Revolutionary War." "Educated at Yale College; designe d for the ministry, but became a teacher. Removed to Fishkill, N.Y. , then to Pike, Bradford Co., Pa., about 1801, and d. there Nov. 18 , 1834. M., 1st a dau. of Zopher Pratt; she d. 1815; m., 2d (name no t known), and she d. 6 monthes after marriage; m., 3d, Susan Bowman , dau. of Connecticut parents, but b. in Mahoopany, Pa. She d. Aug 7 , 1847, aged 57, at Laceyville, Pa. She was much younger than her hu sband. Seven children by 3d wife."
