In Revolution from Pennsylvania. Arrived in Philadelphia PA in 1773 on the
"Charming Mollie" ship which sailed from Rotterdam, Holland. Lived in
Lancaster County, PA in 1777-78. He was in Washington County, TN by 1787
Another source says he in "waht is now Tennessee in 1779", then he went to Kings Montain with J. Sevier in 1780.
Served in PA Militia in `1777-78 during the Rev. War under Capt. Terry in the Battle of Brandywine. applied for pension and was granted in Sept 16, 1832.
from Church Records in Langendiebach, Germany----Born on the 4th day of December 1754, christened on the 8th day of December a son named Casimir. His parents are Wilhelm May and his wife. Godparents, our highness, Prince Casimir. A footnote added by the translator states-- "it was not too unusual to ask a nobleman to become godfather of a new born child. It was a way of trying to give the baby a certain security for its future, because the nobleman gave a present to his godchild, although he usually didn't take part in the ceremony himself."
