" John Hirst became a Quaker Missionary in order to Marry Mary Heston.
He was the son of Rev. John Hirst and Mary Jarrett. Rev. John Hirst was
Presbyterian Clergyman of Bucks Co. Pennsylvania and was a native of
Yorkshire, England. John Hirst Jr, was born in Philadelpha, 1737. He
removed to Wrighstown, Pa. in 1760; became a Quaker in 1759. John Hirst
Sr. came to Philadelpha from the West Riding of Yorkshire, England in
August 1732. He was educated for the Presbyterian Ministery and settled
in Bucks co. Pa where he died.
