A descendent of Sarah Duval Ijams found a note in some LDS papers when she was researching another branch of her family. The not wa dated 12-5-1905 and was britten by Maj. Gen'l Wm. P. Duvall, U.S.A. and was on stationery of Andrew B. Duvall, Attorney & Councilor at Law, Washington City, D.D. The note read in part,
"Sarah Duvall had two brothers, namely: Mareen (or Mureen) Duvall and John Duvall. Also two sisters, namely, Charlotte who married Marcly, who removed to Rushville, Ohio. Priscilla, who married William Ellington, a Methodist minister. This couple removed to Georgia."
The note went on to say that Elizabeth Wheeler Duvall moved to Ohio when Lewis died about 1806. The note was sent to Capt. Lewis E. Ijams, grandson of Sarah Duvall and Thomas Plummer Ijams.
In the back section on the Newman book, Mr Newman mentions a number of people who he states are clearly of the Mareen Duvall family. Lewis and Elizabeth Wheeler Duvall are listed there. The book says that Elizabeth sold some land in Fredrick County in 1806 after the death of her husband.
Sarah's descendant also found a speech that was given in Ohio in the 1800's which said that Sarah had descended from Mareen Duvall.
