General Notes
Abraham was a Dutch Reformer, he left the Catholic Church and took an active part with the Protestants at Swammerdam, Holland in 1561. He was driven from his home and moved about the German States until his death. His widow and married son move to Krefeld. As early as 1615 Herman Op Den Graeff from Aldekirk and a Mennonite resided in Krefeld and could be the son of this Abraham but it is not documented. In the diploma of Nobility it was affirmed the Degraeff family was formerly called Von Grober, they have the same coat of arms. 1359 Frederikus DeGroben married Catherine Desomerock, 1441 Lenardo DeGroben married Maria DeNorhelm and they had Wolfgang DeGroben who moved to Holland and Married in 1483 (this is supposedly where the OpDen Graeff's came from) and he had Pieter Of den Graeff who married Grietz-Pieters Berents who had Abraham Graeff b 1490 Dutch Reformer, his estates were seized by the pope in 1561 and he died in Dusseldorf Germany a few years later,
