William Sommer 
William was born on August 18th, 1883 in Olympia, Washington.1 William's father was Wilhelm Sommer and his mother was Marie Magdalena (Lena) Moessner. His paternal grandparents were Johann Jacob Sommer and Katherina Storer; his maternal grandparents were Wilhelm Moessner and Anna Maria Birmelin. He had a brother and four sisters, named Charles, Amelia (Emilie), Magdalena, Freda and Edith. He was the oldest of the six children.
