Marie-Josephte De Gerlais Dit was born on November 5th, 1689 in Louiseville, Maskinonge, PQ, Canada. Marie-Josephte De Gerlais Dit's father was Jean-Jacques Dit St Amand Degerlais and her mother was Marie Jeanne Trudel. Her paternal grandparents were Ferdinand De Gerlais Seigneur De Hannetaux and Dorothee Cona; her maternal grandparents were Jean Pierretrudel and Marguerite Thomas. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Antoine, Pierre De Gerlais, Jean-François, Catherine De Gerlais Dit, Marie Madeleine De Gerlais, Jeanne, Marguerite Du Gerlais and Marie Anne. She was the fourth youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 78 on May 12th, 1768 in Louiseville, Maskinonge, PQ, Canada.-
