Joseph Godfroy De Vieuxpont 
Joseph Godfroy was born on July 19th, 1645 in Trois-Rivieres, St-Maurice, PQ, Canada.1 Joseph Godfroy's father was Jean Baptiste Godefroy and his mother was Marie Leneuf. His paternal grandparents were Pierre Godefroy-Linctot and Pérette Cavelier; his maternal grandparents were Michel Duherrison and Jeanne Lemarchand. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Michel, Louis, Jacques, Jean-Amador, Pierre, Pierre, Jean Baptiste, Jeanne and Marie Renee. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He was the Sieur de Vieuxpont after his uncle Michel Leneuf gave him the siegneurie of Vieuxpont on the 15th of November 1667. He served as an ensign in 1690 but was declared unfit for service by 1692.
