Basilie was born about 1026 in Longueville, Normandy, France. Basilie's father was Gerard De Flaitel. She had a sister named Ermentrude. She was the younger of the two children. She died in 1099.General Notes
family connections: her sister married Walter Giffard, father of the 1st Earl of Buckingham of the same name; one brother William became Bishop of Evreux. She had first married Raoul de Gace, son of Robert, Archbishop of Rouen and Count of Evreux, the second son of Duke Richard the Fearless. For her second marriage, Basilia brought Hugh III the Castle of Ecouche.
