The Three Sisters would like to contact researchers working
on this line to help solve our Goldman/Hart marriage
mystery. Please contact powell@@cswnet.com.
We are not sure that Henry Goldman had a dau. named
Margaret, but we are sure one of the older dau. married
Charles Hart. Court records in Ky prove that a sister of
Leah Goldman married Charles Hart in NC and that Charles
Hart and this sister raised Leah. Estate Records in Mercer
County KY prove that Charles Harts wife at his death was
named Margaret. I feel that Margaret was already married to
Charles Hart at the time of her father's death and was not
named in his will. It is possible one of the dau. named in
the will had a second name of Margaret. If this is the
case, either Mary or Catherine named in the will could be
Margaret, but I feel this is not likely as I think Charles
Hart was already married to the Goldman dau. in 1781 at the
time of this will. Since no dau. is named in the will with
a surname of Hart, and both Mary and Catherine are named in
the will with no surname listed, I feel they were both
still unmarried and carrying the name Goldman.
Henry Goldman is the earliest proven ancestor in our
Goldman line. He was in Mecklenberg County, NC by 1762. His
wife's name is unknown but it is probable one of her
daughters carries her name. Henry Goldman pruchased land
along Little Coldwater Creek in Mecklenberg County, close
to the present town of Kannapolis, in 1764. His will is
recorded in Book C pages 116-118 of Mecklenberg County
records and was proved in April 1781. The children named in
this will are as follows.

NOTE: While it is not proven, it is believed that Henry
Goldman is the son of Jacob Goldman and Mary Abigail Brown
of Augusta Co. VA and that Jacob is one of the five
children of German Palatine emigrant Conrad Goldman on the
Hunter Lists in New York on July 4, 1710.
