  Anthony Gholson Sr. The first record found of Anthony Gholson Sr. (Golson, Ghol ston, Golsan) is his purchase of 200 acres on the south side Holloday Swamp, Sa int Geroge Parish, Spotsylvania County, VA in 1725. He received a 1000 acre lan d grant on Terrys Run on Sept. 28, 1728. His sons, Anthony Jr. & William each r eceived 500 acres at the same time. Anthony Sr. married Jane before 1739. He di ed in Orange County, VA before Dec. 3, 1764. The know children of Anthony Sr. & Jane are as follows. William Gholson, Sr. mar. 1 Susanna Collins, mar. 2. Joan (Perry?) Anthony Gholson, Jr. mar.
