Sourse: Mildred Roden, Cassville Mo. and Edgar Hulse, both
descendants of Mary Aday Hulse. Edgar was her son. I have
searched for any information on this first family. I have
found no further record of any of the children of this
marriage except some records for John Aday that could
possibly fit. I have found absolutely no record for any of
the females in this family. The names and dates are
supposed to be from Boaz Aday's Bible which Edgar Hulse had
at one time. I have not seen the Bible and have talked
with no one else who claims to have seen this Bible except
Edgar Hulse.
According to Edgar Hulse, Boaz was a circuit riding
Methodist Preacher in Tennessee. He supposedly left a
family in Tennessee when he became displeased with the
actions of his wife while he was away preaching. He was in
the Ozarks by 1840, maybe shortly after 1831. Edgar Hulse
said the last child was born in Lawrenceburg, Lawrence Co.
Tennessee. After he left this first wife he married
Martha Patsy Williams either in Tenn. or in the Ozarks. I
have found no record of either marriage or a divorce from
the first wife. He also said Boaz operated a grist mill in
the area of Baxter, Mo. Stone County. I found no land
record for Boaz, but his widow, Martha Aday owned 80 acres
on Big Indian Creek. She owned both sides of the Creek
where it crosses Highway 86 today. She sold this land to
her son in 1877 and this is were he raised his family.

Found no 1840 census listing for Boaz Aday - 1850 census in
Taney Co. Mo. Boaz Aday listed as Doctor on 1850 census,
age 59, born in Tennessee.
In 1840 Horatio Ady in McNairy Co. Tennessee. In 1850
Searcy Co. Ark. census Horatio Aday age 34 born in
Tennessee, wife Sarah age 29 born in Tennessee, children
Isabell age 11 born Tennessee, William r. age 6 born Ark.,
Lucinda age 2 born Ark. Also on smae census Edmond Aday
age 32 born Tenn., wife Rebecca age 23 born Tenn and
several children. In 1860 Searcy Co. Census same Horatio
added children Goerge age 10, Boze age 4, and Elizabeth age
1. In 1860 Edward and Rebecca Aday and family are listed in
Pople Co. Ark. Census, Indep. Twp. page 125. In 1870
Edward and Rebecca Aday are in Stone Co. Missouri Cass Twp.
The same children are listed with Edmond and Edward so
this is the same family.
All these Adays have to be related. The name Boaz Aday is
very uncommon and points to a definate relationship between
all these families.

the source of our Boaz Aday name but I do not know exactly
how it connects.
This Walter has to be related to the Walter in Giles Co. in
1830, but am not sure how.
In 1820 there is a Walter Aday in Giles Co. with a large
family. It is likely both these Boaz Aday's are related to
Walter but he surely did not have two sons named Boaz.
NOTES: on the 1850 Taney Co. census there is another child
listed as S. (Sarah Aday) b. 1832 Tenn. I do not believe
this is Boaz Adays child and have no information of a prior
marriage for Martha Williams, however, W. G. H. Aday states
is his pension file that Sarah Aday is his sister.
Boaz Aday left Tenn. sometime after William B. Aday
was born in 1831 in Lawrencebrug, Lawrence Co. Tenn., came
to the Ozarks and married Martha Williams or married her in
Tenn. before he came to the Ozarks.

Information that I have (collected by others) indicates
that Horatio Aday filed an application for permission to
come into Mississippi Territory (what is now Alabama)
around 1809. The 1810 Madison Co., Alabama census lists
Horatio Aday. Furthermore, the 1812 Madison Co., Alabama
tax lists Horatio Aday (Eddy) as having 160 acres, val
$300, 5 slaves, tax 6.00. In 1816, Horatio is listed as one
of the Alabama Early Settlers. I have a Felix Grundy Aday,
