"Jacob Shedenhelm and Martha Wood applied for marriage license June 9th
A.D. 1870. And the legal age and condition of said parties having been
established by the affidavit of James Farley said license was thereupon
issued. To the Circuit Court of Iowa County, this certifies that on the
ninth day of June A.D. 1870 at the Residence of Wm. G. Brandon in said
County according to law and by authority I duly joined in marriage Jacob
Shedenhelm and Martha Wood. Given under my hand the ninth day of June
A.D. 1870. F.B. Banks Justice of the Peace."
Martha & her sister, Flora Bell, who married James Farley, were married
on the same day & same place.
