King Robert II (The Pious) Capet Of France & Princess of Burgundy Bertha

The Pious and Bertha were married in 0996.¹ Their marriage was annulled.¹

  Because she was his cousin, Pope Gregory V would not sanction the marriage and Robert was excommunicated. However, after long negotiations with the new Pope Silvester II the marriage was annulled.

  Robert II, known as The Pious, was born on March 27th, 0972 in Orleans, France.² He died at the age of 59 on July 20th, 1031 in France. His burial was in St. Denis Basilica.¹²
  
  Princess of Burgundy Bertha
  Bertha was born in 0952.¹ She died at the age of 83 in 1035.¹
