Burr Harris Burke & Ida Myrtle Ferguson

Burr and Ida were married on December 7th, 1918 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.¹

Marriage/Union Notes
- The following announcement of their marriage appeared in the 'Pioneer News' in Shepherdsville:
  
  "Mr. Burr Harris Burke and Miss Ida Myrtle Ferguson were quietly married in Jeffersonville Dec. 7th, their only attendant being Miss Ada Burke, sister of the groom.
  
  Mr. Burke is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Burke of Shepherdsville and is formerly of Louisville, where he is now employed.
  
  Mrs. Burke is the daughter of Mr. Chris Ferguson and is a charming young lady and has gained many friends.
  
  The bride and groom returned to the home of the groom's parents after being entertained Saturday night by the groom's sisters, Mrs. H.P. Hopewell and Mrs. Jesse Campbell of Louisville.
  
  The bride and groom were extensively entertained Sunday night with a serenade given by Mr. Tom Carlise, every one enjoyed themselves immensely.
  
  We wish the young couple much joy and a long and happy married life."

  Burr was born on January 31st, 1897 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky and his baptism took place in 22nd and Walnut Street Baptist Church.²
  - Birth Notes
    - Baptized at 22nd and Walnut St. Baptist Church, but moved his membership to Baptist Tabernacle Church in 1913. Moved with his parents and siblings to Shepherdsville in 1916. Church records of that year show he moved his membership from Baptist Tabernacle Church to Bullitt Lick Baptist Church, located in Shepherdsville.

  Ida was born on October 27th, 1898.¹ Ida is no longer alive.
