Blanche was born in 1818 in Storrington, Sussex.1   Blanche's father was Rev William Bradford and her mother was Martha.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Bradford and Elizabeth Otter.  She was the youngest of three children.  She had a brother and a sister, named Wilmot and Cathrine.
