This genealogy report is about Triad / Nonbinary test.It contains 7 individuals and 1 families from the family tree.
A character-based test of two features: 1) Listing a family consisting of more than two parents, who all raise their children together; and 2) Listing individuals who are not male or female. Neither of these are currently supported in GenoPro as far as I'm aware, unless support was added in GenoPro 2016 or will be added in the future. To test this, I present a family of seven individuals:
* Three parents, two of whom are male and one of whom is nonbinary. They are all committed to each other and live in the same household. The menage-a-trois warning is ignored.
** For the sake of information, Manny and Ken were connected to each other first, and Io, whom I wanted in the middle, was added third. Based on private tests, though, order they were added to the relationship may not be the deciding factor in who get left off certain pages.
* Three children: Nonbinary, female, and male.
* One pet, just to see if the diamond symbol has a different color in this skin than the triangle.
* Nonbinary individuals are given the "Don't Know" gender marker, and the pregnancy symbol (triangle) is forced to be drawn at all times, giving them a symbol that is neither male nor female.
Based on various tests, I've concluded that there isn't a perfect substitute for a nonbinary gender option, as most methods will always have one thing wrong with it or another; for example, you'll often get things like "unknown gender" or "he/she", which may be completely wrong in context. (You might also get "he" or "she" if you force the triangle but pick male or female anyway; I don't have an example in this current version, to avoid outing anyone.) Personally I prefer the triangle over the pet diamond or even the plain question mark (which looks out of place on a diagram).
NOTE: You can alter pronouns and a few other strings if you play with the Dictionary.xml file in your chosen skin, but a basic find + replace will leave grammatically incorrect sentences. As I have no knowledge with coding, I can't alter it further to make tenses match.
Trying to make a family with a triad or other polyamorous relationship seems to be broken entirely, as it always seems to list only two spouses and no more, and unlike the other situation I don't think I can find loopholes around it as far as things like the Family Wizard are concerned. This leads to things like Io not having their children listed at all on some pages (or vice versa) despite said page linking to the family unit, which is only in Manny and Ken's names. Attempting to link Io as an adoptive parent prior to making triad links just gives them multiple family units. As started, I have no knowledge in this area and wouldn't know how to change the skin files to make this work, if it isn't inherently broken to begin with - GenoPro might be giving warnings for a reason.
At least the family tree diagram itself looks great!
This remains here as a reference to me so that I can look at it later when building full trees. All individuals are fictional but, for reasons, have had their names further altered.
