William Ogier

William was born on October 26th, 1769 in The parish of St Sampson on the Isle of Guernsey, Channel Islands and his baptism took place on October 26th, 1769 in The parish church of St. Sampson.^1 2   His godfather was Thomas Flere and his godmother was Marthe Flere.  William's father was Pierre Ogier and his mother was Judith Flere.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas des Landesm Ogier and Marquerite Nant. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Pierre, Jean, Daniel, Judith, Ester, Catherine and Marthe.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.
