William Ogier

William was born on March 8th, 1764 in The parish of St Sampson on the Isle of Guernsey, Channel Islands and his baptism took place on March 8th, 1764 in The parish church of St. Sampson.^1 2   His godfather was Jean Ogier and his godmother was Catherine Ogier.  William's father was Thomas Ogier and his mother was Marthe Cohu.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas des Landesm Ogier and Marquerite Nant; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas Cohu and Almpe Blondel. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Thomas , Jean, Nicolas, Pierre, Henry, Pierre, Judith and Marthe.  He was the youngest of the ten children.
