Jean Ogier

Jean was born on January 17th, 1748 in The parish of St Sampson on the Isle of Guernsey, Channel Islands and his baptism took place on January 17th, 1748 in The parish church of St. Sampson.^1 2   His godfather was Sr Thomas Ogier snr Douzaine and his godmother was Marie Ogier (his sister).  Jean's father was Thomas Ogier and his mother was Marthe Cohu.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas des Landesm Ogier and Marquerite Nant; his maternal grandparents were Nicholas Cohu and Almpe Blondel. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Thomas , Nicolas, Pierre, Henry, Pierre, William, Judith and Marthe.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.
