Ellen's father was William McAllister and her mother was Isabella Cairns Bell. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, Janet, Isabella and Jessie.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died as an infant, Enteritis, at 8 months old on July 23rd, 1897 in Queensland.  She was buried on July 23rd, 1897 in Charters Towers Cemetery, Qld.^1 2

  Qld Death Cert No. 1897 / C2307 states that the death of Ellen Cairns McALLISTER was registered in country Queensland in 1897. Her father's name was recorded as William McALLISTER while her mother's name was recorded as Isabella Cairns McALLISTER (nee Bell).
