"Mr. W. A. Walsh - Mr. William Alfred Walsh, who died recently at his home, Bright Street, Marrickville, as the result of a street accident early in the year, was a member of a well known Wagga family.
He received his early education from the Presentation Nuns at Mt. Erin, Wagga, and later was one of the first pupils to attend St. Ignatius' College, Riverview, when Father Dalton was Rector.
He was married to Winifred Coleman, of Wagga. He acquired a reputation as an elocutionist.
After Requiem Mass at St. Brigid's, Marrickville, the funeral proceeded to Rookwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow, daughter, Mollie (Mrs. L. Halberstater, Townsville), and son, Bill (7th Division, A.I.F.)."
NSW Death Cert No. 18148/1945 states that the death of William Alfred WALSH was registered in the district of Marrickville NSW, in 1945. His father's name was recorded as William WALSH and his mother's name was recorded as Mary WALSH (nee Wood).
