HALBERSTATER— YOUNG.
A quiet arid pretty wedding was celebrated at St Joseph's Cathedral, Rockhampton, by the Rev. Father T. Byrnes, last Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
The contracting parties were Jessie Lachlan, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. C. G. Young, of Wowan, and Kevin Joseph, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Maurice Halberstater, of Wongalee, Walmal. The bride, in the absence of her father, entered the church with Mr Stanley Wilson, who gave her away. She was attired in a white heavy georgette grown, cut on classical lines and moulded to her figure. The neck was cut square and trimmed with tiny frills. She carried a beautiful white bouquet of wood pulp arum lilies, roses and maidenhair fern tied with white satin ribbon. She also wore a white hat.
The bridesmaid was Isabelle, youngest sister of the bride, who was attired in Margaret Rose pink crepe suede frock, made on classical lines and moulded to her figure. The sleeves and neckline were shirred and there were also shirred pockets. With this a pink hat was worn. Her bouquet was of pink wood pulp roses and maidenhair fern tied with pink ribbons.
The groomsman was Mr J. A. Halberstater, younger brother of the bride groom.
Mrs Young, mother of the bride, wore cinnamon brown silk marocain trimmed with mastic and narrow kiltings with a hat to match. Her bouquet was of roses and ferns tied with cardinal ribbons.
The bridegroom's mother wore black georgette and lace with a black lace coat. She carried a sheaf of gladioli with tulle and ribbons.
After the ceremony the guests, who included only, relatives of the bride and bridegroom, were entertained by the bride's mother at Wotley's cafe. The bouquets carried by the bride and bridesmaid were supplied by Miss Hartley.
The honeymoon is being spent on a motor tour of the North.
The bride's going away dress was a pretty brown figured marocain with a hat to match."
