The marriage was celebrated on February 19 at St. Augustine's Church, Coolangatta, by Rev. Father Mannlx (Southport) assisted by Rev. Father L. Carlton, of Miss Jean Adams, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Adams, Redcliffe, to Mr. George A. McEvoy, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George McEvoy, Malachy Park, Rockhampton. The bride chose an old world frock of delphinium and primrose organza, worn with halo hat to match. She carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums and frangipani. The bridesmaid, Miss May McEvoy (sister of the bridegroom) wore a frock of ash rose mariette, with large picture hat and she carried a bouquet of Japanese dahlias to tone. The bride was given away by her brother-in-law Mr. Cyril Dobson. Mr. Justin McEvoy was best man. On leaving for the honeymoon Mrs. McEvoy wore a frock of Patou pink dull crepe with brown trimmings and brown hat to match.”
