Nellie and Lillie were two spinsters, who lived together all their lives. First they lived at 6 Woodcroft Avenue, and later in a bungalow, 9 Orchard Way, Higher Bebington. The garden and especially the lawn were immaculate which made my father, Walter, green with envy. The bungalow was tidy and full of antiques with a big grandfather clock in the hallway.
