In 1891 and 1901, Walter was living at 5 Cobden St., Birkenhead.

In April 1913 Walter married Annie Gerrare (or Jerrard) at the Baptist Tabernacle, Tranmere, Birkenhead.

In 1913, a Walter Stocks is recorded at 10 Hope Street, Low Moor, Shipley. This is probably another.

In 1916, Walter aged 29 (No. 34287) enlisted for WW1. The family were living at 4 Wellington Terrarce, Tranmere.

Walter built a house called Gilstead, Sparks Lane, Thingwall (with brother George and father). His father Albert Stocks lived in Gilstead, St Wilfrid, Bingley in 1871.

19 June 1916 Walter enlisted in the army when he was 29 and already married to Annie and had a child "Gladys Mary".  He was 5 feet 7.25 inches

When he died in 1963, his estate was left to his daughter Gladys Mary Hughes.
1889 - 1963 Annie Gerrard 73 73 Mother of Gladys.  Gerrard confirmed on Birth record for Gladys.

Mum remembers visiting dad's Auntie Annie (Stocks) just after they were married in 1948.  She was living at Berry Brow, alone she thinks.  Mum says "she had her laying out gear on the top of the wardroabe, ready for when she dies".  There were several layers of carpet on the floor.  Could this be the same person, who may have moved back to a family home in Berry Brow?
1915 - 1994 Gladys Mary Stocks 78 78 Tom and Gladys used to live in North Road, Birkenhead (1940's), and later moved to 17 Malvern Grave.

The 1939 register shows Gladys M Stocks with her parents at Marrion Grove.  The "Stocks" is crossed out and changed to Hughes, which shows she later married a (Tom) Hughes
~1900 (Joseph) Tom Hughes Tom and Gladys used to live in North Road, Birkenhead (1940's), and later moved to Malvern Grave, Tranmere to live with son. Mary Ann was found on the wedding record.
1892 James Gerrard Not obvious what happeded to James.  No James Gerrard, born 1892, on 1939 register. 1895 Gladys Mary Gerrard Spouse may be Vernon Nield-Siddall (1895-1975)
