Her father, Job, was in his final year (possibly ill), and she was getting married the following year.
Another sister Charlotte Gill (27) was also with them. Lives with: William (36) is married to Harriet (32) in 1851, a mechanical engineer. His father Job (aged 70) is with him. Lives with: In 1841, Charlotte (15) was with her grandfather Job (60) Named After 1771 - 1848 Samuel Stocks 77 77 A Clothier according to Amelia's baptism of 1792, but by 1812 was an Inn Keeper (see Ann Shaw). 1769 - 1848 Sally (Sarah) Brook 79 79 Sally's (or Sarah) father was Tos'h or Jos'h (Thomas or Joshua or Joseph) Brook, Clothier of Lockwood in the parish of Almondbury (recorded on daughter Sarah and Ellen's baptism record).

Sarah died a month after her husband Samuel Stocks.
1793 - 1853 James Stocks 59 59 In 1824, James' son (also James) was born and baptised at Honley.

In 1832, James is in the UK poll book, living at Honley at Fisher Green, a freehold farm (now an industrial and residential road)

In 1851, James and Esther (57 & 55) were at Fisher Greem. A wollen manufacturer employing over 50 people. Their 4 youngest daughters (single) were still there and recently married James and Ann were visiting.
1792 - 1846 Amelia (Molly) Stocks 54 54 Married John Shaw in 10 Oct 1811.  The NC baprism for her daughter Ann is very interesting.  It shows Ameila was also known as Molly, and Amelia's father Joseph was an Inn keeper in 1812 1796 - 1875 Benjamin Stocks 78 78 There's only one Benjamin Stocks in Almondbury, and another in Huddersfield who was married to Hannah Barber.  Benjamin seems to have stopped having his children baptised after George in 1825 (except for Ann in 1837, 7 years after she was born).  The birth of Joseph (his last child) in 1838 confirms the mother as CAMPINOT.

Benjamin was a Cloth Dresser from Berry Brow until at least 1841 (when he was 40), and later perhaps a mechanic and worked in the factories of Yorkshire, never travelling to the US (c.f. Job W. Stocks biograpohy).

In 1841, Benjamin Stocks (40) was at Berry Brow with sons George (16) and James (14).  Wife Sarah was not with him.

In 1851, Benjamin and Sarah Stocks (54 & 53) were back together at 1543 Berry Brow with sons James (23) and Joseph (12). Amos Heely and Emanuel Jepson families were neighbours (with possible DNA connections).
1805 - 1845 Sarah Stocks 39 39 Daughter Sarah (1805) had her mother recorded as Sarah Brook (Sally a nickname for Sarah and often interchangable).

Sarah and Hichard lived in Holmfirth after they were married, at Newtown, Upperthong.
1792 - 1850 John Shaw 58 58 John may have died before 1841, when Amilia had George, Joseph and Ruth with her (and others). 1817 Joseph Shaw In 1841, Joseph (20, Tailor) was with his mother and siblings at  Newsome Close.

In 1848, Joseph Shaw, 32, son of John Shaw (both Clothiers) of Lingards married Sally Taylor (also 32) of Meltham, daughter of John Taylor, clothier.
1819 Ruth Shaw ~1826 Sarah Shaw 1831 Martha Shaw No matching baprism for Martha, so may not be daughter of John and Amelia, but niece instead. 1815 George Shaw In 1841, George (25, Joiner) was with his mother and siblings at  Newsome Close.

On 25 May 1846, George Shaw (33, Joiner) of Huddersfield, son of John Shaw (Farmer) married Elizabeth Platts, 27, daughter of Joseph Playys, an Inn Keeper.
1821 Ellen Shaw Ellen was not on the 1841 census with mother, so probably married by then. 1812 Ann Shaw Ann was born Cartworth, Holmfirth on 1851 census, but this is more likely where her husband James was from.

NC baptism states: Ann Shaw 1st daughter of John Shaw Clothier of Dods-royd in the parish of Almondbury by Molley Stocks daughter of Samuel Stocks of Berry Brow Inn Keeper.
1814 James Haigh 1806 - 1835 George Stocks 28 28 George died just before his 29th Birthday. 1816 Samuel Stocks 1772 Sally (Ann) Tiffany Mary's baptism shows that Sarah is the daughter of David Tiffeney in the parish of Huddersfield. 1809 Mary Stocks 1767 Charles Stocks Charles was a methodist (when he had William and Mary baptised).

When Sarah died, their abode was Park Gate (Berry Brow).
1804 - 1838 Eliza Croft 33 33 Eliza's father was James Croft, a Butcher in Huddersfield.  Her mother was Sarah Hartley.  The father is recorded in the baptism records of her children. 1827 Sarah Stocks Sarah was one of the very first children (6th in the register) to be baptised at Salem Chapel New Connexion in Berry Brow. 1828 - 1896 Allan (Allin) Stocks 68 68 In 1890, Allin emigrated to Victoria, Australia (to retire). 1830 Mary Ann Stocks 1832 Martha Stocks 1834 Hamor Stocks 1836 - 1900 Charles William Stocks 64 64 Married Hannah 1837 Ann Emma Stocks 1811 Elizabeth Stocks Probably married Joseph Senior (buried together) or John Rushworth 21 Oct 1827, Huddersfield (although would expect Almondbury). ~1755 - 1813 Sarah Brigg 58 58 1810 Eliza Stocks A note next to the marriage record suggests Job and Sarah  are from Cowcliffe 1811 - 1857 William Stocks 46 46 William (36) is married to Harriet (32) in 1851, a mechanical engineer.  His father Job (aged 70) is with him. 1813 Sarah Stocks 1815 Caroline Stocks In Jun 1841, Caroline was 25, Living at Kirkheaton with Edward, Ann and Betty.
