In 1784, Thomas was born in Marley. He married and lived near Colne for about 15 years, before returning to Marley.
Was Thomas a bit of a joker? Three days after Thomas married Mary Roberts at Colne, another Thomas Pickles of Colne married Martha Thornton, also at St Bartholomew's.
In 1812-14, the family lived at Wanless (when Thomas and John were baptised)
In 1816-26, the family lived at Dick Stiles, SSW of Colne.
In 1841-51, Thomas, Mary and family lived at Marlow (aka Marley), Bingley. Thomas was a "Wood Cutter" and "Labourer" (1845), and Woof Bailiff (1846 & 1847).
There was an Eleanor, daughter of Wm Thomas Cockshott of Marley baptised 6 Dec 1755, and Mary Ann 22 Sep 1757. It appears that the name Cockshott may be derived from this family, also living at Marley. Thomas baptised his son William Cockshott Pickles in 1820.

By 1851, Martha Waddington was a widow, 66, at 26 White Abbey (near Manningham), Bradford. She had the same 4 daughters (as 1841) and two grandchildren with her.
In 1862, Martha died at Manningham, Bradford.

Mother fulkly named on Mary's baptism
in 1811, Martha married Michael, and in the following years had 7 children.
In 1841, Martha (50) was in Bingley with Betty (20), William (20). There was also Martha and Michael (13 & 9), possible later children.
Michael died in 1840, and there is no evidance that Martha remarried. With no husband to support her, she probably died in 1842.

Nathan's father was Thomas Pighills (1763-1833) of Bank Top, Wilsden, Bingley, probably just south of Harden (where there is Bank Top Quarry).
Nathan is born too late to be the son of Mary Walsh, although Mary Pickles born at Bank Close 12y earlier (in 1792) is her daughter.
