His memorial is inscrived at London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Greater London, although his death is also recorded on his parents headstone at Birkenhead, so perhaps hios body was recovered..
4th Engineer George Turnbull of the Liverpool registered defensively armed merchant Ship SS Belgian. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tower Hill memorial. He died when his ship was torpedoed and sunk 50 miles SW of Fastnet on 24th May 1917 by U-57.
