Mary Janes father was John Wood, an engineer, probably from Heathfields, Saddleworth.
In 1841 probable brothers John and James Wood (45 & 45) were at Heathfields, Saddleworth, Yorkshire, with Joseph (15), Mary (15), Sarah (15), William (14) and James (5) Wood.
Mary and James were married in a religious ceremony on June 17th, 1848 in Saddleworth.2 They had a daughter named Esther. The family line is yet to be completed.
