- 2 Feb 1878, James Walker (21) a warper of 20 Cardwell Street, son of Samuel Walker a warper married Elizabeth Ann Mather (20) of 92 Blackburn Road, daughter of James Mather (dec) a weaver.

- From 1878 to 1901 James' occupation was Cotton Warper in Sharples.
  
  From 1911 his occupation was Heck Warper in Astley Bridge.
