- In 1841, Samuel (60, a crofter) and Betty (70) are at Smith's Fold, Elton, Ainsworth. Also present are their daughter Sarah Lonsdale (35) and Sarah and Maria Barlow (15 and 10), the daughters of Richard and Alice Barlow (living nearby).
  
  In 1871 there was a Betty Mather (89, born Ainsworth), a lodger at 41 Falcon Street, Little Bolton with Thomas Roscoe (59) and his daughters. This is probably Betty Brook
  
  In 1872, Betty Mather died aged 92.
