General Notes
26 Feb 1832, Rachel Mather married Thomas Rostron (signed as Thomas Rosthorn), an engineer, at St Mary's Bury. Sarah Isherwood was witness.
In 1834, Thomas was already dead when his son William was baptised.
Occupation Details
From 1832 Thomas' occupation was Engineer in Bury.2
Thomas and Rachel were married in a religious ceremony on February 26th, 1832 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury) by Curate Thomas Potter and witnessed by Sarah Sherwood.3 They had two sons named Thomas and William. There are no more children.
Thomas in 1841, but would have been 11 if the 1851 census is correct. There is a Thomas listed on the 1841 census with Richard Mather (head, 60). Thomas (18 or maybe 8) is listed after James (15), so either not a son of Richard or actually age 8.
Thomas was 21, unmarried in 1851, living with "brother" James. Recorded as Sharples, so probably born Harwood as the other family.
