Mary's father was William Rosthorn and her mother was Elizabeth Booth.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Rostron and Mary Holt. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Samuel, James, Thomas, William, Rachel and Elizabeth. She had an adopted sister named Mary.  She died at the age of 13 on December 27th, 1842.  She was buried on December 27th, 1842 at St. Anne (Turton).²
