- n Dec 1839, the partnership between Matthias Mather and Edwin Preistley Mather, under the firm of MATHER & SON of Great Bolton, as Chemists, Drugists and Grocers was dissolved by mutal concent. Dated 11th but reported on the 21st, about 4 days after Mathias had died. Edwin probably then continued the business alone.
