Thomas Mather

Thomas was born in January 1777 in Turton and his baptism took place on January 20th, 1777 at Over Darwen Lower Chapel.

Birth Notes

Thomas' father was Peter Mather and his mother was Ellen Howarth. His paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Cranshaw; his maternal grandparents were George Howarth and Ellen Greenhalgh. He had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Richard, Thomas, James, Peter, John, Ellen and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the nine known children.
