10 Sep 1860, Ellis Rigby (26), collier of Crompton Row, Tyldesley son of William Rigby, a labourer married Sarah Mather (23), daughter of Joshua Mather a weaver at St George, Tyldesley. Both were living at Crompton Brow, Tyldesley.
In 1861, Ellis and Sarah Rigby (25 & 23) were at Hyde with daughter Mary Mather RIgby (2mo).
In 1871, Ellis and Sarah Rigby (38 & 33) were at Hyde with 5 children.
Sarah and Ellis were married in a religious ceremony on September 10th, 1860 at St. George (Tyldesley) by George Richards and witnessed by John & Betsy Whittle.2
