  • Baptism: 31 May 1703 St Mary, Deane, Lancashire, England Samuel f. Richardi Mather de Middle Hulton

• Death Notes
  • Here resteth the body of Samuel Mather of Bolton,
    was here interned January 1st 1777, aged 74
    Also Mary the wife of Samuel Mather of Great Bolton,
    who departed this life the 23rd day of February 1781,
    in the 59th year of her age.
    Also Samuel their son, died September 16th 1828,
    aged 67 years.  He lived beloved and died lamented,
    John Wright.

  • In 1739, Samuel Mather of Deane married Mary Haeys of Leigh (at Leigh) by Banns.
    
    Samuel Mather was a widower when he married Mary Yates.  Before that, he may have been married to Mary's sister, Ann Yates of Eccles (married 1732).  Another possibility is Mary Hayes of Leigh (married 1739)
