James was born in 1833 in Sharples.1  He died at the age of 73 on December 27th, 1906 in Sharples.  He was buried on December 31st, 1906 at Christ Church, Walmsley.2 3 



James' first family with Elizabeth Entwistle

‌James and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on August 10th, 1856 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by Curate W H Coates and witnessed by John Blackley & Thomas Bromiley.5  They had a daughter named Mary.

‌James and Ann were married in a religious ceremony on November 20th, 1858 at St. George (Little Bolton) by Curate J T Brown and witnessed by George Riley & Ann Riley.5  They had four sons and two daughters, named James, John, William, Joseph, Elizabeth and Mary.  There are no more children.
