Betty's farher is David Knowles, a weaver.
1833, Betty married Abraham Mather in Blackburn. They lived at Darwen and had 4 children before Abraham died in 1848, aged 35.
In 1850 and 1855 Betty had two more children. Eli Mather born in 1850 was registered as illegitimate although Millison Mather in 1855 still shows parents names and Mather+Knowles.
In 1851, Betty Mather (38) was a widow at Blacksnape, Over Darwen with sons Knowles, Abraham and Eli (7, 4 & 1)
In 1857, Betty Mather married George Sanderson. It is assumed Eli and Millison are George's (tbc). In 1860, they had a son George Sanderson when Betty was in her late fourties.
In 1861, George and Betty Sanderson (55 & 48) were living at 10 Back Red Earth Road, Over Darwen with step-sons Knowles Mather (16), Eli Mather (11), Millison Mather (5) and son George (1)
George died in 1886 and Betty 10 years later in 1896.
