  • James was the son of William and Betsy Holland.  His father William was born in Skipton, Yorkshire
    
    10 Jul 1878, James Holland, a minder of 57 Turton Street, son of William Holland a twister married Alice Mather of 1 Cross Lane, Bolton, daughter of James Mather a Shopkeeper at Bolton St George.  They soon had a son James William Holland who died, aged 1
    
    In 1891, James (37 and married) was living with his father, at 77 Gas Street, but Alice was absent.
