John Hirst

John was born about 1787 in Almondbury. He died in 1850 in Berry Brow.

General Notes
- When daughter Sarah married Robert in 1844, John was shows as a "Stubber" from Berry Brow.
  
  John lived at Berry Brow and died there in 1850, aged 63. He must have had a brother William (b.1800) who was logfing with his daughter Sarah in 1851.

Occupation Details
- From 1819 John's occupation was Clothier in Taylor Hill.
  
  From 1821 his occupation was Slubber in Taylor Hill.
  From 1844 his occupation was Slubber in Berry Brow.

      A Slubber prepares cotton for spinning, removing the "slubs" or imperfections in the yarn.
