James was the son of John Entwistle, a weaver.
In 1841 James (12) was at The Smithy, Lever with Betty Entwistle (47), William (20) and others.
24 May 1860 James Entwistle (36) a Grocer, son of John Entwistle, a Weaver married Elizabeth Mather (37), daughter of Robert Mather, a Weaver at Bolton Holy Trinity. (Maybe their transcribed ages should be 30 & 31).
In 1861, James, a Grocer, and Elizabeth (32 & 31) were lodging with Eliza Entwistle (58, possibly his mother) and her son William (30) at 82 Sydney Street, East Bolton.
In 1871, James (head) a draper and Elizabeth (47 & 50) were at 82 Sidney Street. James had his (assumed) bother William (40) and mother Eliza (68) with him and John Bolton (21) a lodger.
In 1881, James had died. His wife Elizabeth Entwistle a draper (61, dau-in-law) was still at 82 Sidney Street with Eliza (78) and her son William (50).
