James and Jenny were married with the consent of parents. At least one may have been a minor. However, all the St James church records show consent of minor, so it may mean nothing!
By 1825 (son James and daughter Mary's baptism), 1841 & 1851, Jenny (or Jinny) was known as Jane.
Jane and James were married in a religious ceremony on December 22nd, 1816 in Accrington.1 They had five sons and four daughters, named John, Ben, James, Robert, Henry, Nancy, Alice, Ellen and Mary.
