Robert, a Dyer was the son of John Chadwick, another Publican, like many of this Mather family he married into.
In 1871 Robert was a sucessfull finisher of printed calico cloth, employing 12 men and 14 young men and boys, living in Stretford, Lancashire.
In 1892 when his bro-in-law James Mather died, a part of the estate (probably over £3,000) was left to Robert.
Robert and Alice lived at 39 Withington Road, Brook's Bar, Manchester until they both died
