Alexandra (Sasha) Stanislavsky (Sion)

Sasha was born on March 13th, 1979 in Kharkov, Ukraine. Sasha's father is Yury (Filja) L'vovich Stanislavsky and her mother is Valentina (Vasya) Gelfgat (Stanislavsky). Her paternal grandparents were Lev Victorovich Stanislavsky and Elizaveta Evseevna Rahman; her maternal grandparents were Victor Iosifovich Gelfgat and Irina Arkadievna Marzan. She has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Kotya and Alya.

  For me, this project came about in the summer of 2003. I was on holidays (about to start a gruelling 4th year of med school). Our family had suddenly grown immensely, with the arrivals of my nieces and nephew: twins Leah and Kolya, and baby Rachel. {Not to mention the new puppy in the household, beautiful Remi!)
  
  When I published my first version of the Family Tree on the web, the response was unprecedented. I was being contacted by people (relatives!) who I had never met, but who had seen my website and were offering to fill up their corner of the story. They had more dates, detail, photos, connections...
  
  There is a certain personal Bigness, I think, in finding out the enormity of your fish pond.
  
  I never got around to incorporating much of the new info. Links started breaking. There was nowhere to fit the additions. The genogram was becoming too enormous to make any sense. Me and GenoPro both seemed stretched beyond our capacity. Summer ended, and nothing much happened with my family tree for more than three years.
  
  Meanwhile, lots of things happened in my life. I graduated from Melbourne University in 2004 with an MBBS/AMS degree. I started working at Austin Hospital as an intern. In mid-2005, my then long-term boyfriend, Amit and I acquired a mortgage, and then travelled to Russia. In late 2005 I fell pregnant with twins. In March 2006 we were married.
  
  June 2006: I am grounded by a twin pregnancy in its seventh month. Two realisations follow:
  1. I have weeks upon weeks to get through without the ability to work, exercise, or indeed do much of the household work I never thought I'd miss so much.
  2. I will never have spare time of this king on my hands again.
  
  This "Attempt at FamilyTree Stage 2" is because of my babies, and for my babies.
  
  Having broken up the tree into linked branches, I can now add unlimited individuals into this project.
  
  So please - I invite all of you, leaves of this tree to send in your stories, details, pictures. And, since I'm not sure when I'll have time for Stage 3 - the sooner the better!
