יובל's father is למך and his mother is עדה. His paternal grandfather is מתושאל; his maternal grandparents were קינן and Mualeleth bint Enos. He is the youngest of two children. He has a brother named יבל. He has a half-brother and a half-sister, named תובל-קין and נעמה.
