Jethro ben Reuel ben Esau

  • (1) In the genealogical system Reuel is both a son of Esau by      Basemath  (Genesis36:4,10,13,17; 1 Chronicles 1:35,37) and the father  of the fathe r-in-law of Moses, Hobab (Numbers 10:29). In the     account  of the marriage of Zipporah to Moses(Exodus 2:16-212 Jud  4:11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the  fatherin  l aw of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and  pitched his  tent  unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.  Jethro comes from a Hebrew name meaning "Excellent," or "Abundance";   It hra.
