Born August 1776, Bordentown, New Jersey and died in1852 in Morrow County, Ohio. He appears to have lived in Sewickley, Pennsylvania (where Ezekiel had a sawmill?). There is a Sewickley Township in Westmoreland County (red dot on the map below) and Sewickley Creek runs through the township.

This suggests that Daniel moved to Prince William County, Virginia with his parents Enoch and Rebecca. Around 179? they moved to Pennsylvania. At a later date he and his wife (and children?) moved to Troy Township, Morrow County, Ohio. His sister Mary Dye had moved to Richland County, Ohio by 1844.

Daniel married Jane McIntyre in 1796 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William McIntyre and Margaret Harris. They had 15 children.

Will of Daniel Dye

"I Daniel Dye of the Township of Troy in the County of Morrow and State of Ohio, Being of weak and infirm in body and well advanced in years but of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make ordain and publish this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made of published.
Item 1st. It is my will and hereby direct that my body be burined in a plain decent manner with two suitables stones in their natural state set one at the head and the other at the foot of my grave.

Item 2nd. I hereby direct that my funeral expenses and Just debts be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of my personal property which shall be sold as soon as convenient after my decease, but of the proceeds of the sale of my personal property should be be sufficient to pay my debts then the deficiency to be made up out of the sproceeds of the sale of my Real Estate.

Item 3rd. I will and bequeath to my beloved Wife all the Beads (beds) and a Bead Clothing and all the housefold and Kitchen furniture exclusively for her own us and the same prevelige in this Dwelling house for the term of one year ......
